Union Mills Junior coaches David and Michael continue their development by currently completing the FA Youth Award Module 3 and the FA Level 2 Coaches Award
About the FA Youth Award.
The FA Youth Award is a groundbreaking new coaching course designed to help coaches to understand as much about their players as they understand about the game.
Module three
Is designed to support the development of coaches who currently work, or who have a realistic opportunity of working, on a consistent and intensive basis with a group of youth players within the performance or elite levels of the game. Within this module, coaches are required to demonstrate the ability to analyse performance within the principles of play (attacking or defending) and show an aptitude for the design of practices specific to the needs of individual players within their charge. such practices may involve consideration of role specific requirements within the match play scenario
Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football
This qualification offers a combination of practical experience and class-based theory to develop an understanding of the planning, conducting and evaluation of ethical football coaching sessions. The practical element of this course is physically demanding and candidates should be reasonably fit. No pre-requisites to join the course but students are required to attend Safeguarding Children and Emergency Aid Workshops before their final assessment. Laws of the Game Workshops are included in the course.
the aim of the course if to allow the coach to be able to:
* develop an appreciation of the ethical coaching process
* plan, conduct and evaluate a series of football coaching sessions
* coach the basic skills and techniques of football
* promote and establish positive working relationships at all levels
* ensure the health and safety of players and others within the coaching environment
* develop greater responsibility for their own learning and development
* promote the sport in a positive and constructive manner
* demonstrate an understanding of the principles of attack and defence through the use of practices and small sided games
